Since 1997, when Mr. Schwam established the firm, Sandwire’s team of highly-skilled technicians has evolved to meet the demands and growing technology needs of small and medium size businesses, providing technology solutions, once only available to big businesses. The firm has expanded its size and operation and now offers a complete suite of internet based telecommunications products and services.
As a leader in the technology field, Mr. Schwam is often called upon to comment on trends and provide expert advice to the IT industry and business sector. He is regularly interviewed by Newsday, Long Island Business News and many trade publications. He was recognized as one of Long Island’s Top Techies by LISTnet and Long Island Business News named him a one of the “Top 40 Business Professionals” under the age of 40 on Long Island.
Mr. Schwam is active in the business community as a member of the Accountants Resource Group (ARG), Huntington Chamber of Commerce Regional Business Partnership and the United States Small Business Administration. He played a key role in the development and growth of the Long Island Elite, a business mentoring and networking organization.
He was recognized by the Long Island Elite as member of the year in 2005. He was recognized for his contributions to the Long Island community with the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Education and Assistance Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that provides educational counsel and intervention services. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Commerce Plaza and donates Sandwire’s services to Pet Peeves, a nonprofit animal rescue and support organization. In 2004 he participated as a volunteer boxer in the Long Island Fight for Charity and raised more than $10,000 for charities.
Mr. Schwam lives in Lynbrook, New York with his wife and two daughters.
